No Fury In The Holy One Towards Believers
EXTREMES in reality brings to mind Romans 11:22, “the GOODNESS and SEVERITY of God.” The child of God will know to varying degrees JOY and SORROW on this side, this valley of Baca, this vale of tears. But on the other side, no SEVERITY, NO SORROW because all iniquities of the “alls” of Isaiah 53:6 were laid on Him, our substitute. The “all” beginning verse 6 is the same as the “all” concluding the selfsame verse and both “alls” are in accord with the two questions of Isaiah 53:1—Isaiah often answers a question with a question as he does in Isaiah 53:1 and Isaiah 63:1.
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
(Isaiah 53:6)
Because of the Perfect Surety and Vicarious Substitute, there is now NO FURY (is this not Jeremiah’s term) in the Holy One toward believers (Isaiah 53:1b). Forgiveness, no guilt—glory to His name.
