The Sun/Son Stood Still

“And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.” (Joshua 10:13)

“And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.” (Mark 10:49)

To say that the sun did not actually stand still over Gibeon, but that it was really the earth that stopped in its course and that the sun just appeared to stand still from Joshua’s perspective is the same as saying Jesus did not actually stand still at the cry of blind Bartimaeus, but that it was really blind Bartimaeus who stood still and that Jesus just appeared to stand still from the perspective of blind Bartimaeus.

“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)
