Election – Positively Positive
There is nothing negative about those glorious truths concerning God’s electing love and Christ’s particular atonement for the elect.
Although men sometimes dwell on the fact that some won’t be saved, that is missing the point altogether of these glorious truths.
Election and redemption do not shut men out of heaven who might have been there. It is the opposite! God’s electing love and the work of Christ on the cross bring men to heaven who most certainly would not have been there! If you tell me about grace that does not necessarily save, and an atonement that does not necessarily atone, unless I do my part…that is negative.
All election and particular atonement declare is that Christ is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end in salvation, and that I am complete in Him. His work is all I need!
Now that is positive.
“All the promises of God in Him are yea and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2nd Corinthians 1:20)
Jesus is LORD!
