Safety In The LORD

“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.” (Psalm 20:1-2)

This salvation God appoints “for walls and bulwarks” (Isaiah 26:1); and I feel it’s power when I draw nigh to Him with many fears and confessions, and He assures me that He is my Friend and will never leave me nor forsake me, and that all His eternal love, power, might and majesty shall be displayed on my behalf. The least grain of this salvation is better then all the empires of this world. He opens our eyes to see the glory of that future inheritance, so that nothing here can draw away the heart. And who shall draw nigh to this? “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in His holy place?” Why, “He that hath clean hands and a pure heart” (Psalm 24:3-4); and this cleanness is to be made simple and honest by the Holy Spirit, and to draw nigh to God in confession and prayer through Jesus Christ, by “faith in His blood” (Romans 3:25).

He says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1st John 1:9).

“Save, LORD: let the King hear us when we call.” (Psalm 20:9). This King comes into the temple of our hearts, and turns out all buyers and sellers. We have many plans and speculations that we are not aware of, to join religion and the world; but our King puts a stop to all these things, and teaches us to do His will. For when we draw nigh to Him and look to Him, we are sure to be made tractable and teachable like little children. The only way of getting out of any trouble is by the exercise of faith on Jesus Christ. The way you had your first deliverance is the way you must ever use.
