The End is Come Upon God’s Land – A Study of Ezekiel 7

Ezekiel 7:1
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Ezekiel 7:2
Also, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD unto the land of Israel; An end, the end is come upon the four corners of the land [the global congregations of New Testament Israel].

Ezekiel 7:3
Now is the end come upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.

Ezekiel 7:4
And mine eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity: but I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel 7:5
Thus saith the Lord GOD; An evil, an only evil, behold, is come.

Ezekiel 7:6
An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.

Ezekiel 7:7
The morning is come unto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is near, and not the sounding again of the mountains.

The phrase in the seventh verse “not the sounding again of the mountains” is referring to God’s judgment of eternal wrath against, first, His harlot church of ancient Israel, specifically Judah.

The chosen elect (Ezekiel 36:1-11) being taken captives into the world of Babylon were shown mercy and goodness (Jeremiah 24:4-7, Jeremiah 42:9-12) while everyone else who remained in Jerusalem and in the surrounding cities of Judah, the Old Testament holy places, were all killed.

Those who refuse to leave the city of Jerusalem and the surrounding cities of Judah (the four corners of the land meaning the whole land of God) were slain with the sword, famine, and the pestilence. This is a metaphor and/or foreshadowing of the things to come upon the whole land of professing Christendom, the end is quickly approaching.

Ezekiel 7:8
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

Ezekiel 7:9
And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense thee according to thy ways and thine abominations that are in the midst of thee; and ye shall know that I am the LORD that smiteth.

(This is the very same verse as verse 4 of this same-self chapter. God repeats himself over and over as a main principle in Holy Scripture being an effective tool in teaching Isaiah 28:9-13).

Ezekiel 7:10
Behold the day, behold, it is come: the morning is gone forth; the rod hath blossomed, pride hath budded.

(The Holy Bible states, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall” – Proverbs 16:18).

Ezekiel 7:11
Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, of their multitude, nor of any of their’s: neither shall there be wailing for them.

The “rod” speaks to authority, chastisement, and in some cases protection from danger, which in essence speaks to God’s authority, chastisement, and protection over His chosen people. King David states through the Holy Spirit in Psalm 23:4 as it was written,

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [the LORD God] art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”

In verse 11, however, the inhabitants of Judah have turned God’s Word and His authority that was supposed to be the over laying authority in which they live by and have turned it into violence and all sorts of abominations and wickedness. They sat on their own throne of authority being full of pride (v. 10) that has swelled up like yeast in bread and see themselves as gods totally independent from the one true Sovereign God of heaven and earth.

And because of this, God’s wrath was kindled against them and He sent forth the king of Babylon into the Temple and into their synagogues and physically ravished and destroyed them. The Chaldeans took everything that was of any value out of the Temple – e.g., vessels of gold and silver, and carried them into Babylon putting them into their houses of their gods.

In the spiritual realm, this all points to the very end of time of Satan’s take over (the abomination of desolation) the church bodies. Babylon symbolizes the entire outside world and its king/ruler is of course Satan.

Ezekiel 7:12
The time is come, the day draweth near: let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: for wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

Ezekiel 7:13
For the seller shall not return to that which is sold, although they were yet alive: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof, which shall not return; neither shall any strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

Ezekiel 7:14
They have blown the trumpet, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

The “buyer” and the “seller” refer to the merchants of God buying and selling spiritual merchandise, which is the Word of God.

But in this context of the verses 12-14, these merchants are comprised of Jews who claimed that they knew God and His will for their lives but live contrary to what they profess. These verses spiritually are pointing to the events near the very end of time just prior to Judgment Day. Isaiah 24 is an outline of God’s Judgment Day upon the whole earth.

Let’s look at some of these verses of Holy Scripture:

Isaiah 24:1
Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth
it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Isaiah 24:2
And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him.

Isaiah 24:3
The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word.

Isaiah 24:4
The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish.

Isaiah 24:5
The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

In this current present time, the world in general is so very evil and wicked similarly like the days of Noah that the Holy Bible states in Genesis 6:5, “that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was only evil continually.”

The earth was so evil and wicked in Noah’s day that it repented the LORD that He
had even made man upon the earth (Genesis 6:6-7). The evilness of the world doing those ancient times are exactly like the wickedness of the world currently, better yet, even worse given the increasing knowledge of man and the ever increasing technology of the world. There is no thought of God’s laws, statutes, and commandments in the hearts and minds of the majority of the inhabitants of the earth.

Verse five is an indictment/judgment against the New Testament state church bodies during the final days of abomination of desolation at the end of time and space.

Verse five states they have sinned against God’s laws, and have cunningly changed the doctrines of the Holy Bible, and have effectively broken the laws and commandments of the New Testament/Covenant, which is the everlasting covenant of the blessed Messiah.

Jesus of course is the mediator of the New Testament (Hebrews Chapters 8 and 9).

Isaiah 24:6
Therefore hath the curse [sin] devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The phrase above in verse six “the inhabitants of the earth are burned” is in reference to the power of the pure Gospel of Christ/the Word of God being compared to like as an actual fire that will spiritually devour all those who are under God’s divine wrath especially in the latter days of the New Testament.

Let me explain only by the grace and power of God the Holy Spirit. I first turn to Jeremiah chapter 23 where in verse 29 it reads,

“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?”

Here we can see that God compares His Word to being like as an actual fire.

Next, we have the verse of Zechariah 12:6 where it states,

Zechariah 12:6
“In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.” [the heavenly New Jerusalem is in view here, Hebrews 12:22-23]

And finally we have the verse of Holy Scripture referring to the chosen believers of the Messiah in the same given context of Zechariah 12:6 in mentioning the last days of the New Testament Era in Revelation 11 verses 3 and 5 where it states,

Revelation 11:3
And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days [symbolic of the New Testament Era], clothed in sackcloth.

Revelation 11:5
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

When was this power first given by the LORD unto the Elect of God?

It officially started on the Day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and there appeared unto them all who sat in the upper room in the city of Jerusalem cloven tongues like as of fire. They were immediately filled with the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:1-4.

This was a fulfillment of the Zechariah 12:6 as well as Jeremiah 31:31-35 of Holy Scripture.

This power is indeed known in the Holy Bible as like a fire from the LORD God of His Holy Spirit. The Word of God is a twoedged sword used by the mouths of the chosen elect of God that can either save or condemn a person (II Corinthians 2:15-16, Hebrews 4:12).

Isaiah 24:7
The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted [God’s chosen elect] do sigh [do sigh because the Gospel waters of eternal salvation (new wine) is no longer being taught properly and truthful within the congregations of Christ.]

The “vine” speaks of Jesus Christ being the true Vine, the new wine speaks of eternal salvation and His eternal chosen Church being the branches of His body (John 15:5).

I now return to Ezekiel chapter seven to cover more verses:

Ezekiel 7:15
The sword is without [outside], and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field [outside world] shall die with the sword; and he that is in the city [Jerusalem, spiritually typing the global congregations at the end], famine and pestilence shall devour him.

Ezekiel 7:16
But they that escape of them shall escape, and shall be on the mountains like doves of the valleys, all of them mourning, every one for his iniquity. (This verse of Holy Scripture is referring literally to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the surrounding towns of Judah of those unsaved Israelites who escaped out of the city and fled to the mountains. This verse is also referring spiritually to a remnant that shall closely resemble the chosen elect but they are still under the eternal judgment of God at the very end of time. They will be running to and fro in search of the Gospel of peace, but they will not be able to find it, Amos 8:11-12, Revelation 9:6).

Ezekiel 7:19
They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Ezekiel 7:20
As for the beauty of his ornament [God’s House of worship, Mount Zion, the Holy City], he set it in majesty: but they [the land of Israel] made the images of their abominations and of their detestable things therein: therefore have I set it far from them.

Ezekiel 7:21
And I will give it into the hands of the strangers for a prey, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoil; and they shall pollute it.

The word “it” I truly believe is in reference to God’s Holy City where the truth of His Word, the pure Gospel of peace, being now diminished because of complete idolatry and abominations held within the Temple, having a spiritual fulfillment of the global congregations at the end of time becoming apostate.

Psalm 48:2
Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. (There’s only one great King and that is Christ Jesus.)

Psalm 50:2
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Isaiah 64:11
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste. (Satan’s abomination of desolation is in view here.)

Ezekiel 7:22
My face will I turn also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it, and defile it.

Ezekiel 7:24
Wherefore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possess their houses [house points directly to a person’s soul, Matthew 7:24-27]: I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease; and their holy places shall be defiled.

Ezekiel 7:25
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none.

Ezekiel 7:27
The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts [judgments] will I judge them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Ezekiel chapter 7 in the spiritual realm is the stern warning of the great apostasy and judgment of God upon professing christendom just prior to the blessed Messiah Jesus Christ’s second return.

As you can imagine, Ezekiel probably stuck out in the midst of the congregation of Judah like a sore thumb where they gave him some of the harshes looks imaginable as he probably took a lot of abuse because of the strong harsh words of the LORD proclaimed to them that Jerusalem and the temple will and shall be destroyed because their utter wickedness and their continual worshipping upon the high places of the mountains and hills of other gods.

Individuals of the outside world including Muslims and other religions are not the ones who will give the chosen believers of Christ the hardest times when bringing forth the pure Word of God. Instead, it is indeed the individuals who make a profession of faith being truly not saved within the Great City of Christendom that kills and destroys the pure Gospel of Christ crucified.

People of the outside world do not differentiate between other gospels of religion.
They do not want any kind of religion interfering with their daily personal lives. It is only the individuals who are within the corporate congregations of Christ who will differentiate between gospels of religion. Look at Jesus and the interaction with His own people, the Jews, for a great example. Read in the Holy Bible in Matthew 21:12 through Matthew chapter 23 on the harsh tone He spoke against the religious leaders of the Jews leading into Matthew chapter 24 on His prophecy of the end time referring directly to the complete spiritual destruction of the New Testament congregations by the spiritual king of Babylon, Satan, who is the abomination of desolation.

Who crucified the Messiah on the cross at Calvary, the Jews or the Romans being Gentiles?

A: The Jews, His native people!
