We Worship God In Christ
We as “Christians” worship God as He identifies Himself in His Word, as He reveals Himself in Christ, and as He draws us to Himself by His Spirit. We worship God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the true and living God in the Trinity of His sacred Persons.
We worship ONE God who subsists in Three Persons. We cannot fully understand or explain this great truth, but we know it is true because this is how God reveals Himself in Christ by His Spirit to us. Our knowledge, connection, and acceptance with the Godhead is in the Person and finished work of Christ who redeemed and justified us by His obedience unto death on the cross –
“For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”
(Colossians 1:19-20)
“For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power:”
(Colossians 2:9-10)
When we praise, honor, exalt, and worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we praise, honor, exalt, and worship the Godhead – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We can give no greater honor to the Father and to the Holy Spirit than when we trust, rest in, follow, and worship God the Son incarnate, the Lord Jesus Christ.
