Does The Bible Talk About Purgatory?

It is not found in the Bible.

Purgatory is a doctrine taught by the Roman Catholic Church. Purgatory means to be purged, and it is taught that purgatory is a place people can go when they die and somehow get purged of their sins. The Bible says it is appointed unto men once to die and then the judgment.

When we die, our eternal destiny is absolutely determined. If we are a child of God when we die, our soul leaves our body and in our soul we go to live and reign with Christ in heaven. If we are not saved when we die, we go to a place of silence to wait for the resurrection of the last day at which time we will stand before the judgment throne. Purgatory is not a Biblical idea at all.

I take it you’re trying to be smart.

The trinity is found in God’s word in 1 John 5:7

    “these three are one”

    Thanks
