What Is The First Resurrection?

It takes a miracle for the dead to hear! However being quickened or made alive with Christ through His Resurrection from the dead effects the New Birth of everyone Christ died and rose for.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1st Peter 1:3)

The First resurrection from the Dead is the Lord Jesus Christ. The first begotten from the dead.

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)

“And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.” (Revelation 1:5)

Both of these scriptures speak to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Dead!

Now Peter says by that Resurrection, those Christ died for, were begotten again unto a lively Hope!

That’s because they were quickened together with Him (Ephesians 2:5-6).

Now that is what John means in the Revelation 20:6.

“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:6)

The first resurrection was Christ’s (Colossians 1:18; Revelation 1:5) and those who were quickened together with Him, had part in the First Resurrection!

Blessed and Holy are those who took part of that Resurrection, for the second death has no power over them!
