A Short Study of 2nd Timothy 3:2

There is a promise from God’s word that all believers will be tried in the furnace of adversity.

“Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
(2 Timothy 3:2)

This trial is always for the good of God’s saints and is an evidence of their sonship (Hebrews 12:8).

To see the good in these afflictions is a work of God’s grace and with that good toward Christ’s sheep in this life is revealed the glory of God in His blessed Son.

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”
(2 Corinthians 4:17)
