Did Mary Remain a Perpetual Virgin After The Birth of The Lord Jesus?

There is not a shred of biblical evidence whatsoever that Mary, the mother of the Lord Jesus, remained a perpetual virgin. Holy Scripture confirms very clearly that Mary was a virgin at the time of the conception of the Lord Jesus, but certainly, this was not a life-long condition.

Matthew 1:25 is the clearest text which proves that Mary and Joseph did indeed have sexual relations after the birth of Christ, for we read very clearly:

Matthew 1:24
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

Matthew 1:25
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Furthermore, we have the biblical testimony that God blessed Mary and Joseph with many children, for we read in Matthew 13:55…

Matthew 13:55
Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?

Matthew 13:56
And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

The Lord Jesus had four half brothers, which are named in Matthew 13:55 who were sons of Mary and Joseph. Jesus ofcourse was the Son of Mary but not the son of Joseph as His Father was ofcourse, God Himself.

He also had atleast 2 sisters, which again, would have been half-sisters.

These children were born ofcourse, after the Lord Jesus Himself, as Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived by the power of Almighty God.

Matthew 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
