Fathers

Fathers, see that you pay more attention to the souls of your children than to their bodies.

We do not mean that the body is to be neglected; but the soul must be considered as the superior part, and the body merely as its servant.

Many fathers are extremely attentive to the bodies of their children, their health, their beauty, etc. but seem entirely to forget that they have a soul. If the slightest illness affects their children, they are alarmed; but they feel neither concern nor anxiety on account of the diseases of their spirit.

This will have eternal consequences, for they will never know the Saviour.

“ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
(Ephesians 6:4)
