What Does it Mean When Revelation 11 Speaks of the Two Witnesses Being Killed?

The two witnesses are a picture of true believers.

As we read in Revelation 11, they have been killed, and their bodies lie out on the streets. That is a figure of speech to indicate that true believers are being cast out of the churches and driven from the congregations.

It is similar to the picture given in John 16:2, where God says:

John 16:2
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

In that verse, you see, God equates being put out of the congregations with being killed. The reality of this can be seen when born-again believers are put out of the church so that their voice cannot be heard.

This is exactly what’s been taking place in recent years. Many believers have been told by their congregations to leave, while many others have been repelled by their churches’ apostacy to depart out.
