Christ is the Beloved of The Father

“Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.”
(Isaiah 42:1)

These are the words of Jehovah God, prophesying of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

God says Christ is His elect, or chosen. Meaning, the Son of God, was the chosen Redeemer of God’s people. God chose His Son alone to do the work of redemption. We know that God is all-wise and all-knowing. He never makes any mistakes or has any lapses of judgment. This choice of Christ is no exception. The Father knew that the Son was the only one capable and sufficient to accomplish the work of redemption.

Believer, God gave His Son to redeem you!

The Father also says of the Son, “in whom my soul delighteth.” In the mystery of the Trinity, it is not just that Father and Son co-exist and “get along.” Rather, there is deep, Divine love between them. Several times in the Gospels, the Father spoke of Christ as “my beloved Son.” This One who the Father loved so profoundly, He was willing to sacrifice on the Cross, that His chosen ones might be redeemed.

Amazing love!

Christ is beloved to the Father.

Is He your beloved?

The Father delights in Christ.

Can the same be said of you?
